Excellent food and hospitality well worth a visit

Good food and a relaxed atmosphere - because if this my friends and I have made this our bimonthly get together venue :-)

The fake fire said it all. Impressive from a distance but when you approach it, it's not the genuine article. Our expectations, based on what we had seen from the website, were too high. Went there for dinner on a weekday night. We ate in the bar. The menu is pretty pricey, you'd expect a full restaurant service for what they charge, but it was not much more than pub service, and to match this the food was the quality of pub grub (I had the Welsh burger - expecting wrongly that as a supposedly good restaurant this would be something special). What was much better was the children's menu which was very good value. The service was friendly and attentive, the real ale good. However we won't be rushing back there.
