I have to say that our stay at Hardwick House was everything that we needed. I arranged a stag group of 15 people and we took over the entire house (with no complaints from the hugely accomodating hosts, Rob and Ruth). We used the house as our base for the weekend and were afforded free reign of the majority of the house (private residence aside), the huge games room, the expansive gardens and the pool. The bedrooms were all spacious, clean and had private flat screen TVs, stocked fridges and towells. The food was all cooked to order (which for 15 lads is some feat!) and without fuss and the hosts asked for nothing more than for us to take care of their property. Highly recommended if you're looking to take over a stunning country house for a weekend.

Just returned from weekend wedding celebation at Hardwick House and can not say enough about how amazing it is. Rob and Ruth Sly helped the happy couple pull off an amazing ceremony and reception in this picturesque, fully restored Victorian manor house. This family has only been managing this B&B for note even a year and the place is absolutely perfect. There are individual rooms and suites for friends to lodge together. Plenty of seclusion, quiet, good english breakfasts and history. This was our first experience in a B&B in Europe and it couldn't have been better. The service was great and friendly, and we'd love to go back. The house is just far enough from the main road to protect it from noise and busyness. But its conveniently located near enough to the M5 and to Tewkesbury (a charming medieval community). We drove to the B&B from Oxford in about 45 minutes, and then on to Bristol within another 45 minutes. We totally recommend the Hardwick House to anyone looking for a getaway from town life, or just as a stepping stone on a tour through the English countryside. Can't wait to do it again soon!

Our party of 6 (3 generations from 5 to 82) immensely enjoyed our stay at Hardwick House. This is a very special place - to call it a B and B does not do justice to either the mansion-like house and beautiful grounds or, more importantly, to Rob and Ruth, who could not have been more attentive, relaxed and gracious hosts. We stayed at the end of April and the weather was great - our 5 and 9 year old girls spent a whole afternoon enjoying the pool and the grounds, as did my wife and I. For my 79 year old Mum, who had great memories from her childhood of the local area, it was a very special time, again enhanced by the warmth and hospitaility of the owners. We cannot recommend Hardwick House highly enough - it is a grand base from which to visit the Cotswolds, with beautiful countryside all round. We also recommend the Fox and Hounds in Bredon (within 5 minutes drive) - lovely old pub with great choice of food. We were all sorry to leave Hardwick.

My husband and I rented the whole of Hardwick House for Christmas 09 - and what a wonderful Christmas it was. First, the owners, Rob and Ruth, are incredibly responsive. I found the house via a Google search while I was working in South Africa and despite the challenges of time and distance was able to find out about the place and secure a booking. Rob and Ruth were as helpful and gracious in real life too - and prepared the house with a Christmas tree and a special room for my elderly father, so that when we moved in on Christmas eve, everything was ready to have a great time. The house is perfect for a large extended family. Children had their own rooms near parents and we - the grandparents - were blessedly isolated from 4am Christmas noise. The house is fully equipped - a real home from home. Though we weren't B and B guests, Ruth still left us some breakfast goodies. I can imagine that the attentiveness of the hosts would ensure a comfortable stay any time at Hardwick House - but if you are thinking of a large event there - don't hesitate. The grounds are extensive and in the summer would be lovely for relaxing.
