I have visited this family local restaurant for the past 25 years with many many friends even from overseas and most of my family. Everyone has been delighted. I have been lucky to have dined in many fine places but very few can match the welcome, service and consistency of their food. They are exceptionally friendly, helpful and obliging people. The food is always fresh , tasty and beautifully presented. The decor is warm and modest but very comfortable. I think that it is always best to book as this is a very popular spot which has expanded and evolved over the years. BYO keeps the costs down but for a feast expect to pay £25 a head. I am surprised to read reveiws of people waiting to be seated but I have a feeling that the staff really don't want to turn people away and really do want to help and assist. I write this first reveiw on a restaurant because simply it is my son and I's favourite local spot and you will always be guarenteed of a fabulous evening. Go and enjoy

Great middle eastern restaurant. Great flavours and lots of interesting dishes. We normally just get a load of starters and share them. It's very good value.

Just had a lovely evening at Aladdin's. Great service - very friendly and knowledgeable staff, managing a very busy retaurant brilliantly. Great food too - loved the lebanese sausages and the chicken kebab was really succulent. Quirky decor - really kitsch, but suited the place. Loved the BYO - only £1 corkage. Was our first visit tonight but definitely won't be the last!

Unfortunately we did not even get to try the food. Normal Saturday night and we had a table for four booked for 9.15pm, nothing unusual about the booking. Turned up at 9.10pm to be told they were running a bit behind and would be 5/10 min until they could seat us, so we waited in line with a load of other people who seemed to be in the same position. Well those 10 minutes came and went as did some more, at 9.30pm we asked whether it would be much longer, again we were told 5/10 minutes. Now here is the thing......... no apology and clearly no idea about how to keep customers happy. By 9.50 (yes about 40 minutes standing up in the entrance) we decided to give up as we were told 5/10 minutes (you can see the pattern here!). I found this incredibly shocking, sometimes the restaurant is overrunning and will give you a new time and apologise, but no, Aladdin's just kept us waiting, and waiting, and waiting with no apology and standing in their entrance. If we had been told the truth we could have gone back to the pub and came back! I would not recommend this place, it may be alright if you can get in, but if not your night will be ruined (we ended up at the take out Chinese across the road as we were about to pass out with the hunger!). This was a real shame because I like to try local restaurants instead of chains, but I would stay well clear of this one.
